Showing emotions

One of my fellow-photographers has always said that my strength as a photographer is to capture the moment and show the emotions. He might be right. On the other hand, when it comes to conceptual photography, I suck.

No matter how well I plan my shoot, in the end I go with the flow. For me taking pictures is more like having a conversation with the model and the environment. Trying to find out how she/he wants to be portrayed. What is she/he a like? How does she/he move? The small things. I'm always ready to make compromises and change my plan, if needed.

With Riikka we had no proper plan at all. She wanted to be captured the way she is. And this the way she is. According to me.
